Job description

Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in enterprise systems and Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions. In this role, you won’t just maintain systems; you will architect and automate a highly secure, “hands-off” data transfer and infrastructure ecosystem. You will act as a core pillar of our operational stability, bridging the gap between legacy reliability and modern automation, while mentoring junior engineers and safeguarding our critical data pipelines.

Key Responsibilities
Architecture, Automation & MFT Strategy

Design, implement, and optimize automated monitoring, configuration management, and reporting functions to achieve a fully hands-off Managed File Transfer (MFT) and SFTP environment.

Install, configure, and maintain critical infrastructure components including virtual environments, storage, firewalls, and enterprise platforms (VMware, Windows, UNIX, Check Point).

Seamlessly integrate and manage enterprise file transfer technologies (e.g., Progress, Connect:Direct).

Operations, Security & Compliance

Lead disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning, risk assessments, execution, and testing.

Act as a key technical point of contact for internal and external audits, providing meticulous documentation and evidence.

Champion change management processes, incident response frameworks, and rigorous testing methodologies to minimize downtime.

Participate in a shared after-hours/weekend rotation for infrastructure emergencies and scheduled maintenance.

Collaboration & Leadership

Provide Tier 3 technical support and escalation management, resolving complex customer and system incidents with an empathetic, client-focused approach.

Author and maintain high-quality engineering documentation, best practices, and standard operating procedures.

Mentor and elevate junior team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning.

Collaborate with vendors to evaluate, recommend, and negotiate hardware and software solutions.

What You Bring (Qualifications)
Experience: 5+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, systems administration, or a dedicated MFT role.

MFT Expertise: Deep operational knowledge of file transfer protocols (SFTP, FTPS, HTTPS) and enterprise platforms like Connect:Direct, Progress MOVEit, or similar.

OS & Virtualization: Strong proficiency in Windows/UNIX administration and VMware environments.

Networking & Security: Solid understanding of network topology, firewalls (Check Point preferred), and secure protocols.

Automation Mindset: Experience using scripting/automation tools to eliminate repetitive manual tasks.

Soft Skills: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
