THE POSITION

FanDuel is looking for an HR Technology Senior Analyst - Payroll to help optimize and support our global Workday ecosystem, with a primary focus on Payroll. As the Workday Payroll subject matter expert, you'll partner closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, and Technology teams to deliver scalable, compliant, and efficient payroll technology solutions while supporting employees across multiple countries.

This role combines deep functional and technical expertise in Workday Payroll with experience across the broader Workday platform. You will lead system configuration, enhancements, production support, integrations, and continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring payroll operations remain accurate, compliant, and optimized. This is an exciting opportunity to influence the evolution of FanDuel's HR technology landscape while partnering with global stakeholders to deliver exceptional employee experiences.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the Company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the Company to meet evolving business needs.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Serve as the primary HR Technology subject matter expert for Workday Payroll, providing configuration, production support, enhancements, and ongoing optimization.
  • Partner with Payroll teams supporting the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, as well as HR, Finance, IT, and external vendors, to deliver scalable and compliant payroll technology solutions.
  • Configure, maintain, and enhance Workday Payroll, Absence, Benefits, and HCM, ensuring system configurations align with business requirements and evolving regulatory needs.
  • Lead the configuration, testing, and deployment of Workday releases, enhancements, and new functionality across Payroll and related Workday modules.
  • Support payroll operations by troubleshooting complex Workday issues, resolving production incidents, and performing root cause analysis to implement sustainable solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday solutions that improve operational efficiency and the employee experience.
  • Manage inbound production support requests and prioritize enhancements across Payroll, Absence, Benefits, and HCM.
  • Coordinate system testing activities, including regression testing, user acceptance testing (UAT), parallel payroll testing, and release validation.
  • Develop and support integrations between Workday and payroll, timekeeping, benefits, finance, and third-party vendor systems.
  • Build reports, dashboards, and data audits to support payroll accuracy, compliance, operational decision-making, and data integrity.
  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, standardize system configurations, and improve operational efficiency across the HR technology landscape.
  • Create and maintain functional documentation, configuration workbooks, process flows, and knowledge articles to support system governance and operational continuity.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable payroll regulations, internal controls, security standards, and data privacy requirements across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.
  • Partner with HR Technology and Payroll leadership to develop and execute the Workday roadmap, recommend best practices, and continuously improve HR technology capabilities.
  • Mentor junior analysts and contribute to cross-functional HR technology initiatives and enterprise Workday projects.

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience supporting Workday Payroll in an HR Technology, HRIS, or Payroll Systems role.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise configuring and supporting Workday Payroll is required.
  • Hands-on configuration experience with Workday Absence, Benefits, and HCM is required.
  • Direct experience supporting payroll operations in both the United States and Canada is required.
  • Experience supporting United Kingdom payroll is highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting Workday business processes, security, reporting, calculated fields, EIBs, and system integrations.
  • Experience leading Workday releases, feature adoption, testing, and production support activities.
  • Strong understanding of payroll legislation, compliance requirements, and payroll business processes across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Experience supporting integrations between Workday and payroll, benefits, finance, timekeeping, and third-party applications.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to partner effectively across HR, Payroll, Finance, Technology, and external vendors.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, global organization supporting multiple business units.
  • Knowledge of sports and/or experience working within a highly regulated industry is a plus.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Workday Pro certification(s), particularly Payroll.
  • Experience supporting additional global payroll operations beyond North America and the United Kingdom.
  • Experience with Workday Studio, Core Connectors, APIs, or other integration technologies.
  • Experience supporting Workday Time Tracking or other adjacent Workday modules.

The applicable salary range for this position is $94,000 - $125,000 USD, which is dependent on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs and market demand. This role may offer the following benefits: medical, vision, and dental insurance; life insurance; disability insurance; a 401(k) matching program; among other employee benefits. This role may also be eligible for short-term or long-term incentive compensation, including, but not limited to, cash bonuses and stock program participation. This role includes paid personal time off and 14 paid company holidays. FanDuel offers paid sick time in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
