The organization is committed to expanding community impact, fostering an inclusive culture, and ensuring that staff have the resources they need to succeed.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager will oversee day to day HR operations, support employees and managers across the organization, and help strengthen HR systems and processes. This role requires strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced nonprofit environment. The HR Manager will partner closely with leadership on employee relations, talent development, compliance, and organizational culture initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Talent Acquisition: Own full-cycle recruitment and onboarding to build a diverse and robust team.

  • Streamline HR Operations: Oversee compensation, benefits, policies, and compliance to ensure seamless HR processes.
  • Advise Leadership: Partner with senior leaders on employee relations and organizational strategies, providing guidance and solutions on critical matters.

Qualifications
  • Experience: 5–7 years of HR experience, with a focus on payroll (multi-state preferred), recruitment, compliance, and employee relations.
  • Hands-On Approach: A proactive, resourceful mindset with experience in smaller HR teams or as the key HR lead in an organization.
  • Strategic & Tactical Skills: The ability to balance big-picture thinking with day-to-day execution.
  • Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in any discipline that supports your HR expertise.
  • Tech Savviness: Proficiency in HRIS systems, payroll tools, and performance management platforms.

You’ve worked in smaller HR teams or as the sole HR expert and have the ability to independently manage payroll, compliance, and people strategies. You’re as comfortable rolling up your sleeves as you are advising leadership on high-level initiatives.
Compensation
  • Salary range up to $120,000
