Our dynamic team of over 700 professionals specializes in MEP support design, technical VDC (Virtual Design and Construction), project management, detailing, project support, and more. PURPOSE/SUMMARY:

Skills Required: College Degree in Engineering field; EIT completed or in process

  • Assist Custom Engineering Lead/Project Manager will work under the guidance of a Senior Project Engineer who assigns all engineering tasks; may also be assigned directly to a project management team; should be in constant contact with whomever they directly report to, updating them on tasks and letting them know their status at the end of day

  • Custom Engineer (Basic) – responsible for daily custom engineering packages which typically include, but are not limited to, one of the following: basic anchor calcs, custom suspended support designs, wall supports, riser supports, and roof mounted designs
  • Billing (Basic) – must understand our billing tracking software (Nexus) and how to input ALL hours whether it is for a project, administrative, or personal leave

  • Gather Information for Custom Engineering Packages (Basic) with the assistance of Senior Engineers, must be able to communicate with PMs, sales staff, and even clients to obtain all necessary information regarding the engineering documents needed for your tasks
  • Custom Engineer Package Submittals – must be able to build basic custom engineering submittals including coversheets, back up calcs, and supporting documents, such as the necessary ICC/ESR reports for your packages
  • Detail Drafting – must be able to create accurate details using AutoCAD and/or Revit for all custom engineering packages using the right annotations, scale, and callouts for such things as welds, torque, and correct parts and pieces

  • Seismic Layouts (Basic) – must have a working knowledge of the ISAT manual and rules for laying out standard bracing, including how to create a bracing legend, coversheet, and correctly annotated layout on projects for all trades, configurations, and for the CBC, IBC, and UFC
  • Communication must be able to communicate in all forms of correspondence for tasks related to projects associated with; will create transmittals, send follow up emails after coordination meetings, etc.; all related communication needs to be electronically documented in project folders, and CC’d to the Lead
  • Project File Management – must have a working knowledge of our file structure and be able to keep all file folders current and organized; must understand where various files need to be put so all personnel have them readily and easily available

  • Program Proficiency (Basic) – must learn the basics of AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks
  • Code Knowledge (Basic) will acquire a basic knowledge of all codes pertinent to custom engineering, particularly the ASCE-7, IBC, UFC, and CBC and how they govern seismic engineering

  • Organization – must be able to keep a clean and organized work environment
