Junior Accountant

Location: Fort Lauderdale, FL
Salary: $50,000–$65,000 (Based on Experience)

About the Role

Our client is looking for a motivated Junior Accountant to join their growing accounting team. This position is ideal for an early-career accounting professional who is eager to build a strong foundation in corporate accounting while working closely with experienced finance leaders. Reporting to the Controller, the Junior Accountant will assist with daily accounting activities, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close processes to help ensure accurate and timely financial records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for month-end close.
  • Process daily cash receipts and record bank deposits accurately.
  • Perform bank and revenue reconciliations while investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and assist with audit requests.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and assist with depreciation schedules.
  • Help track grants, deferred revenue, and other general ledger accounts.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred
  • 1+ year of accounting experience or relevant internship experience preferred.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and GAAP.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Sage MIP, Altru, or other accounting software is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
