Junior Accountant

About the Company and the Junior Accountant Opportunity:

  • CFS is partnering with a well-established organization in the trucking industry in the Halethorpe area.
  • Due to a vacancy, they are looking to bring on a Junior Accountant to work in-office.
  • Schedule: M-F, 40 hours a week, 1 hour lunch
  • Duration: contract-to-hire, depending on performance, fit, and needs of the business
  • Pay: $25-28/hr - depending on experience

Overview of the Junior Accountant role:

  • Perform accounting functions supporting a fleet of 500+ trucks
  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
  • Record daily entries and execute reconciliations
  • Maintain records related to depreciation and amortization
  • Monitor fixed assets
  • Assist with preparation and submission of government tax filings
  • Support cycle counts and verification of physical parts inventory
  • Assist with preparation for year-end audit for the leasing entities
  • Monitor and maintain filing system for leasing
  • Provide front desk coverage for approximately one hour per day

Qualifications for the Junior Accountant:

  • 1+ years' accounting experience; Anyone from recent accounting/finance grads with no experience to experienced Accountants with 5 years or less of experience is encouraged to apply!
    • Accounting, Finance, or related degree preferred (or equivalent years of experience)
  • Prior experience in a dealership or transportation-related setting is a plus, but not required
  • Proficient with Excel and Word
