Teaching Assistant Professor of Italian Language
The Department of Romance, German, and Slavic Studies at The George Washington University invites applications for one full-time renewable, non-tenure accruing appointment at the rank of Teaching Assistant Professor of Italian language to begin as early as fall 2026 with an initial three-year appointment.
Specific duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to, directing the Italian language program; teaching six courses (3/3) per year; overseeing the development, implementation, and maintenance of the curriculum and of assessment instruments.
Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. or EdD, or equivalent degree in Italian language pedagogy, second language acquisition, or related field; at least three years' experience teaching Italian language courses at the college or university level; native or near-native proficiency in both Italian and English; demonstrated excellence in teaching in Italian language at multiple levels, as evidenced by evaluations, teaching assessments, letters of recommendation, etc.
