Job description

Assistant Professor - Nursing **FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT** The mission of the Nursing Unit within the Department of Allied Health is consistent with the College's mission to provide educational opportunities leading to socioeconomic mobility for students from diverse ethnic, racial, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, particularly Hispanics and African Americans. The Nursing programs provide educational opportunities for students seeking entry or mobility within a nursing career path as a licensed practical nurse and/or licensed professional nurse (RN-A.A.S.). The nursing programs serve as a resource for the promotion of health and wellness for the population in the South Bronx and surrounding communities. These programs adhere to the standards of Practice and Code of Ethics as set forth by Professional Nursing Organizations. The Nursing Unit invites applications for one tenure track Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate courses in all areas of Nursing (Fundamentals, Med-Surg, Psychiatric and Maternal- Child Nursing) effective Fall 2026. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: teaching, student advisement, research and guidance in area(s) of expertise, committee participation, curriculum development, administrative assignments, supervisory work, and scholarly activities. Essential duties require on-campus/in-person work. **QUALIFICATIONS** Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent (Master's degree in Nursing). Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution. The following qualifications are preferred: - Experience with ACEN Accreditation. - Master's degree in Nursing. - Current NYS RN license. - Recent clinical experience, and prior teaching experience in an academic setting. - Knowledge of the Associate Degree Nursing Education program. - Evidence of scholarly activity. - Experience with simulation equipment. - Availability to teach days, evenings and weekends **COMPENSATION** $76,937 - $86,671; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
