Job description

Lyra Technology Group is a private equity-backed holding company that invests in and operates industry leading technology service businesses. Our companies are operated independently by exceptional management teams. Companies that join our group retain the employees, name, and culture that have made them successful. As a platform of Evergreen Services Group, we never divest from businesses we partner with and approach every decision with the goal of driving sustainable and healthy growth over the long term.
One of Lyra's operating companies, Lazorpoint, is looking for a talented and diligent IT Project Engineer to join their team!
About Lazorpoint
Lazorpoint's mission is to empower middle-market businesses by maximizing the value of their
technology investments. We deliver comprehensive, modern IT services that drive real business
outcomes. We are a growth-focused Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Cleveland, Ohio,
and we take pride in building a team of sharp, driven, and consistently curious engineers who
thrive in a client-facing, project-driven environment.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced IT Project Engineer to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This is a
fully onsite role. You will work directly with clients and internal teams to design, lead, and
deliver complex IT projects across a wide range of technologies.
If you have experience delivering projects in an MSP environment, you understand the pace,
accountability, and technical rigor this role requires. That background is foundational to this
position and central to how we build our team.
What You Will Do
โ€ข Consult with clients to assess requirements and recommend technically sound, businessaligned solutions
โ€ข Lead small project teams or serve as a senior engineer within larger project
engagements
โ€ข Manage and deliver projects across Microsoft platforms, cloud infrastructure,
virtualization, networking, storage, backup and recovery, and security
โ€ข Guide and mentor junior team members, sharing expertise and raising the technical bar
across the team
โ€ข Conduct IT environment discovery and assessments for new and existing clients
โ€ข Lead infrastructure projects tied to mergers and acquisitions, new location buildouts,
and cloud migrations (including Microsoft 365)
โ€ข Design and implement centralized computing solutions
โ€ข Architect and deploy server virtualization and data center solutions
โ€ข Design and implement backup and disaster recovery solutions that meet client business
continuity requirements
โ€ข Travel locally to client sites as needed
What We Are Looking For
Experience - Required:
โ€ข 5+ years of project delivery and engineering experience within a Managed Service
Provider (MSP). This experience is essential, and candidates without MSP project
delivery backgrounds are unlikely to be a strong fit.
โ€ข 5+ years of hands-on experience with the Microsoft platform (Active Directory, Azure,
Microsoft 365, Windows Server, etc.)
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to independently lead and execute IT projects from scoping
through delivery
Experience - Preferred:
โ€ข Prior mid-market or IT consulting experience
โ€ข Solutions Architect experience
โ€ข Cyber security experience
โ€ข Technical certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, Dell, VMware, CompTIA, etc.) are a plus
Skills and Attributes:
โ€ข Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical
concepts for non-technical stakeholders
โ€ข Internally motivated with a track record of delivering high-quality outcomes
independently and as part of a team
โ€ข Organized, analytical, and comfortable managing competing project priorities
โ€ข Genuine commitment to client service and client experience
โ€ข A degree in a technology or business-related field is preferred
Location Requirement
This is a full-time, onsite role based in our Cleveland, Ohio office, with regular engagement at
local client sites. The position requires consistent in-person collaboration and client presence.
Candidates must be local to the Cleveland area or willing to relocate. Remote or hybrid work
arrangements are not available.
Salary: $80,000-$120,000
Let's Talk
If you have experience leading and executing IT projects in an MSP environment and are looking
for a role where your technical judgment and client presence matter, we would like to hear from
you. This position offers the opportunity to own projects end to end, work directly with clients,
and be part of a team that values quality, accountability, and long-term outcomes.
