JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Summary/Objective
Manage the Information Technology (IT) department of a Manufacturing Plant in the Automotive industry. Provide services and support to Plant Operations maximizing availability, performance and efficiency. Focus on cost effective solutions with a continuous improvement mindset.
Reporting Relationships
  • Direct report to the Plant Manager
  • Dotted-line reporting relationship to the Regional IT Manager

Roles & Responsibilities
IT Management
  • Manage IT Team, primarily on 1st shift weekdays, ensuring support for off-shift, weekends and on call support.
  • Consult with plant management on continuous improvement ideas and fulfill requests.
  • Project Management or key team member of projects to deliver new initiatives and/or service improvements.
  • Drive problem management resolution and permanent corrective actions.
  • Provides key Plant IT contact for internal and external Adient Customers
  • Ensures Company IT activities are communicated in a timely fashion to the Plant Leaders.
  • Responsible for IT tasks related to launches and communicating updates at readiness reviews.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

IT Infrastructure & Applications
  • Responsible for the daily operations of computer systems including but not limited to the following:
  • Perform Level 1, incident management, support for hardware, communications, networking, software and shop-floor systems ran at the manufacturing facility. Escalate to next level support teams if applicable.
  • Monitor, event management and administration of local IT Infrastructure.
  • Adhering to the processes and standards of the company.
  • Manage access to IT services while complying with Security and Vulnerability standards.
  • Ensure system backups are current and can be restored.
  • Schedule and coordinate hardware and infrastructure installation with Corporate and 3rd party suppliers.
  • Maintain Key and Operational Metrics
  • Maintain documentation of IT Services, Equipment and Procedures

Experience & Skills
Minimum Required:
  • 6 years IT related experience.
  • 3 years leading IT operations services and team.
  • Strong communication, analytical, project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to delegate and track multiple work streams.
  • Desire to have broad responsibilities and work in fast paced environment.

Additional Desired:
  • At least 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, ideally automotive industry.
  • Manufacturing Execution System (MES) experience.
  • Basic database knowledge and report writing skills.

Education & Training
Required:
  • Bachelors' Degree in IT.
  • Or Associates/Technical Degree in IT related field of study with 5+ years of experience.

Desired:
  • Technical Certifications.
  • Continuous Improvement training.

Other Requirements
  • 7x24 on-call availability for critical plant operation system support
  • Willingness to work 45+ hours a week and weekends
