Job description

IT Engagement Specialist - Remote

The IT Engagement Specialist drives engagement across the IT organization by delivering clear, actionable communications, reporting, and enablement content that helps teams understand priorities, progress, and how to adopt IT services and changes. The role builds a cohesive IT identity aligned with JAX's brand, focusing primarily on internal communications and partner readiness, with limited external messaging coordinated through Marketing/Corporate Communications. Working closely with IT leadership and stakeholders, the Specialist translates complex initiatives into concise updates, supports metrics and training, and provides leadership-ready insights that demonstrate impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic IT Communications & Value Storytelling.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive IT communications strategy aligned with IT's strategic roadmap.
  • Craft messaging that clearly communicates the business value, return on investment, risk reduction, innovation, and operational impact of IT services and initiatives.
  • Create compelling narratives around major system implementations, infrastructure initiatives, digital transformation efforts, and service improvements.
  • Establish a recognizable internal "IT identity" that reinforces IT's mission, culture, and strategic contribution without conflicting with corporate brand management.
  • Executive & Leadership Communications.
  • Partner with the Director of IT Process and Development and IT Leadership to develop concise leadership-ready presentations and summaries (e.g., quarterly updates, key decisions, risks/issues, and progress highlights).
  • Support internal reporting on long-term planning, performance metrics, and progress against IT strategic objectives, in partnership with the Director of IT Process and Development.
  • Draft talking points and messaging for leadership forums and select cross-functional updates (e.g., steering committees), ensuring content is practical, accurate, and aligned to current priorities.
  • Support agenda development, decision/action tracking, and follow-up communications for key IT leadership forums.
  • Change & Program Communications.
  • Support organizational change initiatives through structured communication planning and execution.
  • Assist with the development of communication plans for large system or application rollouts.
  • Translate technical changes into clear, accessible language for non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ensure clear articulation of project goals, timelines, risks, and expected outcomes.
  • Drive awareness, adoption, and stakeholder engagement through targeted communication campaigns.
  • Internal Communications, Enablement & Training.
  • Develop and maintain an internal IT communications cadence (e.g., weekly highlights, monthly operating updates, release notes) that keeps teams aligned on priorities, dependencies, and key dates.
  • Create internal playbooks, job aids, FAQs, and quick-reference guides to support consistent execution across IT teams.
  • Coordinate and package internal reporting content (metrics, OKRs, milestones, risks/issues) into repeatable templates and dashboards for IT leadership and operational teams.
  • Support training and education for internal teams by helping develop materials, coordinating sessions, and communicating updates related to processes, tools, and standards.
  • Partner with service owners and process leads to ensure communications and learning materials are accurate, timely, and easy to use.
  • Content Development & Channel Management.
  • Produce and manage internal IT communications and enablement content (e.g., IT intranet updates, Teams posts/channels, internal newsletters where appropriate, FAQs, knowledge base articles, and release communications).
  • Coordinate content collection across project teams and subject matter experts in a dynamic environment.
  • Promote consistent use of internal communication workflows, templates, and collaboration platforms (Microsoft 365), enabling repeatable, high-quality delivery across IT teams.
  • Ensure consistency in tone, clarity, and usability across IT communications and internal documentation.
  • Maintain and manage an IT communications content calendar.
  • Metrics & Continuous Improvement.
  • Support metrics management and internal reporting by collecting, normalizing, and packaging KPIs/OKRs, service performance indicators, and program milestones into clear, repeatable reporting formats.
  • Analyze adoption trends, service usage patterns, and feedback to identify where additional communications, process clarity, or training is needed.
  • Recommend improvements to communication approaches, channels, and messaging.
  • Establish and track communication and enablement KPIs that demonstrate improved alignment, readiness, adoption, and operational outcomes.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership.
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Corporate Communications to ensure alignment with enterprise brand standards while maintaining IT-specific messaging ownership.
  • Support cross-functional initiatives requiring coordinated IT input, and partner with Marketing/Corporate Communications when broader enterprise messaging is needed.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Other Duties as assigned.
  • Occasional travel to other JAX sites.
  • Assist ITPD Director with special projects.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience translating complex technical concepts into business-focused
  • Messaging.
  • Strong understanding of IT systems, service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL), and project/change management disciplines.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional data visualization skills.
  • Experience working with senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to support internal reporting, dashboards, and measurement of communication and adoption effectiveness.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) and other collaboration platforms.
  • 5+ years of experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required. Degree in Information Systems, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

ITIL Foundation certification or similar IT Service Management credential, Prosci Change Management Certification or equivalent, Certified Technocal Communicator (STC), PMP, or comp TIA Project +

Pay Range: $85,987 - $143,962
