Associate Director, IT Commercial Sales Data and Analytics

The role is based in the Gilead Business Services center in Raleigh's Research Triangle region, home to some of the company's critical shared service teams in North America, including Information Technology, Global Financial Solutions, HR Operations and Procurement Services Desk. These functions provide the necessary support to ensure Gilead's business runs effectively and efficiently. The center will also be a catalyst for standardization of processes, digital transformation and technology optimization.
Summary:
The Associate Director, IT Commercial and Sales Analytics role within the Enterprise Data and Analytics organization, is a leadership role accountable for Commercial Stakeholder engagements, timely and consistent delivery of operational data management, reporting, dashboards and applications to Gilead US Commercial, Sales Analytics & Operations, Data Strategy & Governance and other Field facing and HQ teams and stakeholders. The role will be involved in building IT data and analytics solutions for multiple Gilead Commercial therapeutic areas and product launches. Successful candidates will possess a combination of Commercial process knowledge, cloud data technology management and multiple IT vendors management experience.
Initiatives led during a typical year, include Data & Analytics Operational delivery effectiveness improvements, Cloud transformation initiatives, Commercial Product Launch analytics support and other data strategy projects, to enhance US Commercial Sales and Analytics organization's data and analytics effectiveness. The role also works with Commercial IT leadership in data and analytics roadmap development and horizontal IT data management and analytics tools portfolio streamlining. This position will direct additional IT and Vendor resources as required and creates influence network across diverse functional groups, including Gilead Commercial and IT functions.
Essential Job Duties:
Leadership & Program management
• This role needs to drive key data & analytics initiatives and transformation programs, support product launches and should manage cross functional program milestones
• Deep Financial expertise of managing budgets of complex programs
• Drive demand and roadmap planning working with business to generate business cases and generate ROI frameworks with Commercial business stakeholders including US Sales Analytics, Data Strategy & Governance, Incentive Compensation, Commercial forecasting and other organizations
• Deep cross functional collaboration within IT (Commercial IT, Platforms, iOS applications, Enterprise Architecture, etc.) is needed to be successful in this role
Technology Competency
• Need deep understanding of data and analytics technology stack including AWS, Informatica, MDM, Dell Boomi, Teradata, Oracle, Azure, Salesforce, Starburst, etc.
• Manage Devops and delivery teams for data and analytics to the above Commercial teams
• Lead several POCs at Gilead to enhance the future state of technology stack at Gilead, advance operational efficiency including advanced analytics initiatives
• Understand the cross functional technology dependencies to make informed decisions
• Manages Projects and understand business implications on using right architecture components addressing cross technology issues
Data & Analytics DevOps
• Drive overall all Operational efficiency of Commercial US Solutions in AWS Cloud and should have good understanding Data mesh architecture and iOS application management
• Manage and navigate complex global vendor ecosystem at Gilead including vendors CTS, HCL, ZS, Accenture, etc
• Proactively come up with recommendations to further improve DevOps and cloud optimizations efficiencies
• Understand and improvise Gilead DevOps processes and systems including Gilead-DnA Platform's Commercial data & analytics account standards, methods & tools management
Overall
• Need to have proven leadership skills to manage complex projects and vendor teams of dozens of SMEs
• Cultivate strong business relationships and effectively communicate with US Sales Analytics Leaders (20+ Cross functional stake holders in Commercial business)
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree and ten+ years of work experience OR Master's Degree and eight+ years of work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
• 10+ years supporting Commercial Pharma Sales Analytics and Operations processes
• 8+ years of experience with data management and analytics tools and technologies; AWS Cloud DevOps experience is preferred
• 5+ years managing technology and analytics vendor support teams
• PMP, Scrum Master, CSPO, ITIL, ICP-ACC Six Sigma SME or other equivalent certifications
• Experienced leader in building Commercial Analytical solutions within a pharmaceutical or Commercial biopharmaceutical organization, with a diverse and broad set of expertise on Data acquisition, analytics solutions & Commercial business processes
• Deep understanding of Commercial data sets like IQVIA DDD, XPO, XPD, LAAD, SHAPTD, Specialty pharmacy, copay, patient assistance programs data, etc
• Demonstrates strong technical understanding of Data warehousing process and AWS cloud technologies
• Deep experience leading major data and analytics transformation projects
• IT Support and build of Field analytics to drive sales performance for different therapeutic areas, products and indications
• Drive IT operational efficiencies to scale the range and depth of analytics
• Highly organized, results-oriented and attentive to details, self-motivated, proactive, independent and responsive
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills requiring little supervisory attention
• Experience with following technologies is preferred:
o AWS Cloud and Databricks architecture and services
o Integration technologies Like Informatica, Dell Boomi etc
o Salesforce, Veeva, Teradata and other Pharma applications
o Proficiency with query languages, such as SQL and or Python
o Visualization and reporting tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy
The salary range for this position is: $168,980.00 - $218,680.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
