Job description

Basic Function and Distinguishing Characteristics Under the direction of an assigned Supervisor, provide Investigative support to the District Attorney's Office; assist the District Attorney Investigator in a variety of operations and activities; organize and service court documents; locate and interview witnesses; perform related duties as required. Investigative Assistant incumbents provide investigative support to attorneys or investigators by assisting in the service of court documents, locating and interviewing witnesses and retrieving documents and reports. Incumbents in the Investigative Specialist position assist with routine aspects of non-criminal investigations and are a non-safety classification.

Education and Experience/ Licenses and Other Requirements Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and college level course work in criminal justice, social work, law enforcement, or related field and one year experience performing criminal or civil investigations or experience in computer or graphic design. Valid California Class C driver's license. Supplemental Information A valid driver's license may be required at the time of appointment and employees may also be required to drive their own vehicle and provide proof of liability insurance as per Vehicle Code VC 160020.
