Interns perform a wide range of duties for many different departments. Some of these duties include:
Revenue Integrity – Professional Practices
- Take responsibility for organization of data sources.
- Research, write, edit and distribute department newsletter.
- Coordinate with other departments or other vendors to complete various projects.
- Juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Work with various people around the hospital on different projects.
- Plan and implement special events (community seminars, races/walks, etc.)
- Assist Revenue Integrity department in various functions related to chargemaster, revenue cycle, charge capture as well as perform various coding functions some of which may include initial audit and/or applicable data collection.
REQUIRED
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
PREFERRED
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Revenue Integrity
- Medical and or Coding background (apprentice and or externships accepted or individuals seeking RHIA, RHIT, CPC-A, CPC, CCS, CCS-P, COC)
- Understanding of medical terminology and anatomy
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to solve problems and have strong attention to detail
