Associate Attorney – Litigation


Cole Law Group, P.C. – Brentwood, Tennessee

Full-Time | In-Person


Cole Law Group, P.C. is a growing, litigation-focused law firm located in the heart of Brentwood, Tennessee. We are seeking an ambitious and motivated Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. This position offers meaningful courtroom exposure, hands-on mentorship, and the opportunity to grow within a collaborative and entrepreneurial legal practice.

This role is ideal for an attorney who enjoys advocacy, values professionalism, and is eager to gain substantive litigation experience in a fast-paced but supportive environment. Associates at Cole Law Group are given significant responsibility early in their careers and work closely with experienced litigators on a broad range of civil litigation matters from case inception through resolution.

Successful candidates will demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills, professionalism, initiative, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.


Key Responsibilities


  • Draft pleadings, motions, memoranda, correspondence, and other litigation-related documents
  • Conduct legal research and assist with development of case strategy
  • Handle written discovery, including drafting requests and responses
  • Assist with and participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial preparation
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and experts
  • Manage case deadlines, litigation calendars, and client communications
  • Attend and conduct procedural and administrative hearings as appropriate
  • Maintain organized and accurate case files using firm technology and practice management systems
  • Support senior attorneys in all phases of litigation and case management
Preferred Qualifications


We are particularly interested in candidates who demonstrate:

  • 0–5 years of litigation experience preferred
  • Strong analytical, research, and legal writing skills
  • Prior litigation experience or demonstrated interest in litigation through Moot Court, Trial Advocacy, Law Review/Law Journal, internships, clerkships, or similar experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
  • Professionalism, initiative, sound judgment, and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Proficiency with legal research platforms such as Lexis or Westlaw
  • Comfort with modern legal technology and practice management software
  • Tennessee law license, or eligibility to obtain Tennessee licensure within six (6) months of hire
