Summaryย 

Reporting to theย Chief Operations Officer, theย Human-Centered Design Coordinator is a program support role responsible for coordinating,ย facilitating, andย strengtheingย organizational learning,ย innovationย andย experienceย across the organization.ย Theย HCDย Coordinatorย ensures that Human Centered Design principles are consistently applied, operationalized, and integrated into programs, systems, and services.ย Theย HCDย Coordinator supports implementation by aligning teams, managing projects, and embedding continuous improvement practices acrossย the agency.ย The HCD Coordinatorย plays a critical role in translating ideas into actionableย work plans, tracking progress, and ensuring thatย innovation efforts are coordinated, sustained, and informed by survivor voice and data.ย This role serves asย a central pointย of coordination across departments, ensuring that innovationย cycleย led by executive leadership and program teams is aligned, supported, and advanced through structured processes and consistent follow-through.ย The role supports the organizationโ€™s transition from a centralized innovation function to an integrated, organization-wide approach toย Human-Centeredย Design.ย 

Duties and Responsibilitiesย 

  • Coordinateย and manageย design sprints, pilot initiatives, and innovation workstreams across departments.ย 

  • Facilitateย workshops,ย design sprints,ย and co-creation sessions with staffย andย survivors.ย 

  • Guide teams through structured problem-solving, ideation, and prototyping processes.ย 

  • Translate concepts and ideas intoย defined andย clearย actionable workplans.ย 

  • Develop and manage project timelines, deliverables, and accountability structures.ย 

  • Support staff in applyingย Human-Centeredย Design principles within their program areas.ย 

  • Monitor progress of pilots and initiatives to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.ย 

  • Track action steps and coordinateย cross-departmentย communicationย to ensure shared understanding and progress on innovation efforts.ย 

  • Partner with program leaders and executive leadership to align, support, and operationalizeย innovation initiatives withย Strategicย Priorities.ย 

  • Supportย relationship-building with internal teams and external stakeholders through co-creation processesย ย 

  • Ensureย multi-audienceย feedback loops are implemented, sustained,ย and used to informย iterative program design.ย 

  • Ensure consistent follow-through onย design sprints and pilot initiatives by tracking progress,ย identifyingย barriers, and coordinating next steps across teams.ย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree inย Socialย Work,ย Publicย Health,ย Organizationalย Development,ย related field,ย orย commensurateย work experienceย required.ย 

  • One (1) year of experienceย withย Human-Centered Design, design thinking, or innovation-relatedย workย preferred.ย 

  • Two (2) years of experience in project managementย orย program support.ย 

  • One (1) year of experienceย facilitatingย meetings, workshops, or group processes.ย 

  • Proficiencyย in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word,ย and Excel,ย and working knowledge of computer database program entry and report generation.ย 

  • Complete the 40-hour Domestic Violence Advocate certification training post-hire.ย
