About the Role
We're looking for a positive, detail oriented individual to join our team as a Deposit Operations Specialist. This position can office from most branch locations in NE, CO, or KS.
In this role, you'll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of electronic payments, deposit transactions, and daily banking operations. This role supports critical back-office functions including ACH processing, exception handling, account reconciliation, and deposit services, while also serving as a key point of contact for internal and external operational support inquiries. This role is responsible for ensuring the end of day balancing across all transaction points, resolving discrepancies, confirming that all cash, electronic, and system-generated transactions reconcile to a balanced position.
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Process incoming and outgoing ACH files, including file origination and settlement through the Federal Reserve
  • Review and resolve daily exception items, including non-posts, insufficient funds (NSF), stop payments, and returned transactions
  • Monitor ACH activity for invalid accounts, returns, deceased account holders, and potential fraud; escalate and report suspicious activity as needed
  • Review and approve customer-submitted ACH files, ensuring adherence to established limits and risk controls
  • Process and balance deposit transactions, including branch capture, merchant capture, and mobile deposits
  • Process incoming cash letters and ensure accurate balancing and posting
  • Reconcile official bank check accounts and correspondent bank accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Execute scheduled core system and mainframe tasks to support daily banking operations and workflows
  • Process bank statements and maintain accurate financial records
  • Manage branch supply orders, including ordering, fulfillment, and internal billing
  • Handle incoming branch mail and process through postage systems
  • Provide internal and external support by responding to operational inquiries via phone and email, troubleshooting transaction issues, and guiding branch staff and customers on deposit operations processes

Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience
2 years of banking operations, deposit operations, or related financial services or retail bank transaction/processing experience
