The annual base salary range provided for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Is the Opportunity?
The intent of this position is to provide our internal employees, 2026 Travelers Summer Interns and Summer Students the ability to apply to our 2027 Full-time or Intern opportunities. Applications outside of this audience will not be considered at this time. However, for additional positions posted at a later date, we encourage anyone who was not an internal employee, Summer Intern or Summer Student between June 2026-August 2026 to apply at that time.
The Finance & Accounting Leadership Development Program (FALDP) is a comprehensive, three-year rotational program designed to develop the next generation of finance and accounting professionals. Through a combination of diverse assignments, specialized training, and continuous mentorship, participants will build a strong foundation for success within the organization. Additionally, the program provides the opportunity to gain work experience that qualifies for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification. Upon completion of the program, participants will place into an impactful finance or accounting role, joining a successful group of FALDP alumni across all levels of the organization.
FALDP participants are expected to learn and adapt quickly, embrace change, challenge inefficiencies, and bring new ideas to the table. As a participant, you will be empowered to take initiative, engage with diverse perspectives, and celebrate collective success-making a lasting impact from day one.

  • The FALDP provides rotational opportunities within the disciplines of accounting/controllership, audit, and finance. These rotations may take place across a variety of enterprise groups, including Claim, Corporate, Technology, Operations, and other business units.
  • Supported by targeted learning and development, program participants engage in hands-on assignments focusing on accounting and controls, finance, insurance, self-leadership, and influencing others. The program also offers opportunities for mentoring, networking, community engagement, and project leadership.
  • While specific duties will vary by rotation, FALDP participants can expect to gain experience in areas such as: accounting and controllership, auditing and internal controls, financial planning and analysis (FP&A), and financial reporting and modeling.
  • Each rotation is designed to build technical expertise, business insight, and leadership skills, preparing participants for impactful finance and accounting roles upon program completion.
  • Please note that occasional travel for business meetings and events is an expectation of program participants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.4 or greater.
  • At least one year of finance, accounting, or related industry experience (may include one or more internship experiences).
  • Willingness to relocate to Hartford, CT or St. Paul, MN.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential through internships, extracurricular activities, or work experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to excellence, integrity, and continuous growth.
  • Strong work ethic and a high level of critical and analytical thinking skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
What is a Must Have?
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Accounting and/or Finance or a related business field.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future.
