Location: 4400 Papa Joe Hendrick Blvd, Charlotte, North Carolina 28262
Hendrick Motorsports, a leading NASCAR Motorsports operation, is currently seeking a highly motivated Race Engineer Intern. The ideal candidate would have experience in working with and supporting Race Mechanics and Engineers in car preparation as well as database maintenance and manipulation. the role will support NASCAR Race Engineers, Car Chiefs and the Crew Chief regarding application of documentation, technical theory and calculations, data analysis, and fuel mileage from race events.
The position will provide support through data manipulation, analysis, reporting and research. This position will assist with installation, disassemble, inspection and repair of race car components.
The position requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, flexible work schedule, and a strong understanding of engineering and mechanical principles. The candidate will be responsible for small independent projects as wells as assisting with team projects. The candidate should have car set-up knowledge, as well as familiarity race car components and information technology.
Job Requirements:
  • Must be enrolled in a 4-year collegiate program pursuing an Engineering related degree, or currently possess an Engineering or technical related degree
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interact well with others
  • Must be a team player and have a high level of integrity
  • Must possess ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Must possess thorough understanding of race cars, components and engineering concepts related to race cars
  • Must possess solid tool, technical and computer skills
  • Must possess strong attention to detail and the ability to problem solve
  • Prefer prior experience with Engineering related software and programs
  • Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
  • Must be at least a sophomore or second year student in the degree program being pursued
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
