Overview

**This position is contingent upon Contract Award**

SUMMARY:  

The Engineering Aide (Intern) will work directly with Government personnel in meeting technical needs of the project. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

   Works closely with Data Acquisition and Analysis engineers, takes on tasks that range from administrative support to hands-on involvement in project planning and execution.    Assists Data Acquisition and Analysis engineers in designing, testing, and maintaining systems and equipment.    Collects and analyzes data, prepares reports and presentations.    Operates and maintains laboratory equipment and performs tests as directed.    Organizes and maintains engineering documents and records.    Provides technical support to other departments as required.    Assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment.    Provides general administrative support to the engineering team as needed.    Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, AND LICENSURE:

   Current enrollment, in good standing, with an accredited college or university in pursuit of a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline.    Excellent communication and teamwork skills, essential for success in a T&E team environment.    Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.    Demonstrated ability to use common laboratory equipment and tools.    Proficiency in data entry and basic data analysis.    Prior experience working in a laboratory field-test environment or with the concepts of T&E preferred.    Familiarity with engineering standards and tools preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

May require lifting up to 25 pounds. 

WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:

DoD Secret or higher security clearance, or the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS: As a condition of employment, must pass a pre-employment drug screening, as well as have acceptable reference and background check results.
