Job description

Thank you for expressing interest in the Meyer Najem Construction High School Internship program. We are a general contractor and construction management company with offices in Indiana and Florida. The goal of our internship program is to give students the opportunity to learn about the commercial construction industry, explore a variety of career paths in construction management including: Project Management, Estimating, Trades, and Field Operations (Superintendent).

List of Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Basic understanding of project drawings and specifications.
• Basic understanding of construction activities / scheduling timelines.
• Basic understanding of skillset/trades required to complete construction activities.
• Basic understanding of safety requirements of commercial construction
• Basic understanding of Superintendent Daily reports & importance of these documents
• Observe the process for updating drawings & specifications (RFI, ASI, etc)
• Observe Project Quality Control (Pre-Installation Meetings, Mock-ups, coordination, etc.)
• Become familiarized with Meyer Najem job site procedures
• Observe weekly Foreman/Superintendent meetings on site
• Observe OAC (Owner/Architect/Contractor) Meetings
