The Development Manager is responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of corporate partners and individual donors to advance United Way for Greater Austin’s fundraising goals. You will lead the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of funding through corporate giving programs, workplace campaigns, sponsorships, and individual philanthropy.


In this role you will drive year-round engagement by creating meaningful opportunities for donors and partners to connect with United Way’s mission through fundraising, volunteerism, and community impact efforts. Working collaboratively across the Resource Development team and with Marketing, Finance, and program teams, this role builds a strong pipeline of new prospects while deepening relationships with existing supporters.

What you’ll do:


Portfolio Management & Fundraising

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of corporate partners and individual donors, including identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned accounts and donors, ensuring a high-touch, tailored engagement strategy.
  • Identify philanthropic goals and align giving opportunities to maximize donor and partner investment.

Corporate & Workplace Giving

  • Implement workplace campaign strategies and employee giving programs for corporate partners.
  • Develop and execute corporate engagement opportunities including sponsorships, volunteerism, and CSR activations.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of corporate prospects through research, relationships, and community outreach.

Individual Giving & Donor Engagement

  • Deliver a high-quality, personalized donor experience, including events, recognition, and communications.
  • Plan and execute engagement opportunities to strengthen long-term donor relationships and pipeline development.
  • Partner with internal teams to design and implement donor engagement strategies, events, and campaigns.

Collaboration & Strategy

  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications, Events, and program teams to support integrated fundraising and engagement efforts.
  • Work with Grants and leadership teams to support corporate and philanthropic funding opportunities.
  • Engage volunteer leaders and internal stakeholders to advance fundraising strategies.

Data & Performance Management

  • Track all outreach, relationship management, and fundraising activity in CRM (Salesforce).
  • Analyze data to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Ensure strong pipeline management and accurate reporting across portfolio activities.

What you’ll bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or a minimum of three years of relevant experience preferred
  • Experience in fundraising, account management, sales, or donor relations preferred
  • Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and team building skills; ability to work effectively across departments and with diverse stakeholders
