The Senior Manager will support development and execution of ECU affordability strategy and lead integration with Base Program and ECU CIPTs to improve cost performance, strengthen engineering change cost control discipline, and enhance visibility to product cost impacts. This role contributes to building a strong affordability culture across the ECU organization and prepares ECU for an expanded cost focused environment in the post RRDR period.
What You Will Do:
• Contribute to ECU affordability strategy and help drive cost and process excellence initiatives.
• Lead day to day execution of the ECU affordability PCMT, working closely with Engineering, CIPTs, Finance, and Program teams to identify and advance cost reduction opportunities.
• Partner with CIPTs to ensure early, complete assessment of cost, schedule, and technical impacts for Base Program and engineering change activity.
• Support maturation of the Engineering Change Cost Control function, helping manage a large portfolio of active ECs with focus on containment, mitigation, and process improvement.
• Strengthen EC process rigor and improve organizational awareness of cost impacts.
• Assist in developing and implementing cost control strategies aligned with long term affordability goals and RRDR related initiatives.
• Represent program cost considerations in PCMT, ECU PMT, IPMT, and other governance forums to reinforce accountability and alignment with program priorities.
• Identify process gaps and partner across functions to implement corrective actions that reduce cost escapes and recurring issues.
• Develop and maintain metrics, dashboards, and governance routines to monitor cost trends and elevate risks proactively.
Qualifications You Must Have:
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in program management, engineering, operations, or cost management
• Strong communication skills and demonstrated change leadership ability
• U.S. citizenship required due to program/contract access requirements
Qualifications We Prefer:
• Understanding of engineering change processes, cost drivers, and cross functional integration in military development programs
• Experience leading initiatives with cross functional impact
• Background in affordability or cost reduction initiatives

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
