THE POSITION
Calling all IT professionals! The Health and Human Services Information Technology Delivery Center is on the lookout for an Information Technology Generalist 1 who is interested in playing a key role in keeping essential technology running smoothly. This role places you at the center of vital technology support for agencies that serve communities across the Commonwealth. Your dedication ensures staff have the tools they need to carry out their missions every day. Join us to help make daily operations safer, faster, and more reliable!
DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As an Information Technology Generalist 1, you will be providing in-person technical support for a wide range of devices, systems, and applications used across Health and Human Services offices. In this role, you will perform the following duties:
  • Technical Support: Resolve incidents and problems related to hardware, software, and network connectivity
  • Device Setup: Install, configure, and support computers, mobile devices, printers, and related equipment
  • System Administration: Manage user accounts, security settings, and access controls across assigned systems
  • Network Assistance: Support cabling, equipment, and connectivity for local and statewide networks
  • Documentation Work: Create support materials and track incidents using approved reporting tools
  • User Training: Provide instruction to staff on devices, applications, and system functions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You will be required to report in-office at minimum 3 days per week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Warren. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $59,345.00 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services; or
  • One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
