Job description

Job Overview

Fairview is seeking a Nutrition Services Associate for West Bank hospital located in Minneapolis, MN! This is a part time position offering 64 hours over a 2-week pay period and is benefit eligible!

The Nutrition Services Associate (NSA) serves as a liaison between the diet office, kitchen managers, and clinicians to enhance communication and improve patient satisfaction. The NSA supports patient's nutrition needs through fulfilling enteral nutrition and oral nutrition supplement orders, assisting patients with menu needs, answering questions about therapeutic diets, navigating the nutrition software, and other diet office duties.

Schedule

3 weekdays rotating through shifts 6a-230p, 7a-330p, 830a-5p. Every other weekend 6a-230p.
Responsibilities

  • Accurately fulfills enteral nutrition and oral nutrition supplement orders and delivers to units
  • Assists patients requiring additional support to order food and beverage items in alignment with the diet order
  • Adjusts menu requests to align with therapeutic diet guidelines and food allergies using the nutrition software
  • Supports patient and family members by gathering food preferences, answering questions about therapeutic diets, addressing service concerns and/or triaging to appropriate team members or managers as needed
  • Gathers data about calories and macronutrients consumed by patient if requested by clinical team
  • Demonstrates proficiency in knowledge of menu items, nutrition formulas and supplements, therapeutic diets, and use of the nutrition software
  • Communicates clinical concerns to the dietitians or other clinical team members
  • Unloads pallets of nutrition formulas and stocks nutrition formulary room supplies as needed
  • Identifies areas for process improvement to improve efficiency and accuracy of nutrition services and participates in process improvement as requested


Required Qualifications

  • 1 year of customer service experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrolled in or completed health-related 2-year or 4-year degree program
  • 1 year of health-related patient services experience
  • Registered Dietetic Technician
