Title Information Services Manager

Classification Exempt (salary)

Reports to VP of Operations

Position Type Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM, overtime as needed

JOB OVERVIEW:

Valtim Marketing Solutions is a full-service marketing solutions company specializing in multi-channel direct marketing. We are hiring an IS Manager reporting to the VP of Operations. We are looking for someone to create effective policies and procedures to ensure our use of Information Technology is optimized to meet Valtim’s operational needs.

This is a supervisory position managing 6+ employees.

Travel is limited.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage IT, Data, and Prepress departments. Responsible for employee evaluations, one on ones, timekeeping, coaching/mentoring.
  • Directs workflow, assists in conflict resolution, provides direction and oversight of work initiatives and recommends/identifies professional development and training needs.
  • Establishes, plans, administers and maintains overall policies and goals for each department managed.
  • Analyze the needs of different departments and determine ways to meet business objectives by modifying existing or developing new information processing systems.
  • Ensure proper functioning of the information processing system and oversees necessary upgrades.
  • Ensures computer equipment, hardware, and software are updated to meet organizational needs.
  • Help business operations groups utilize information processes to improve their efficiency and facilitate interdepartmental communication efforts as needed.
  • Develop and maintain necessary organizational structure to effectively carry out implementation of plans and strategies in a timely manner.
  • Consult with internal customers to determine needs and to discuss new ideas, new uses for available technology, availability of new technology and the most effective processes for interfacing old and new technologies within Valtim’s organization
  • Based on analysis of available technology and internal customer needs, determine the most effective course of action on use of Information Technology and develop a well defined plan to initiate change smoothly and effectively including purchase, installation, vendor support, training, etc..
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with external information technology suppliers and support groups. Negotiate purchase equipment, software and system support services to maximize internal system usability, effectiveness, reliability and to supply technical support and backup for internal staff.
  • Evaluate new technology (programs, systems and hardware) to determine the feasibility and value added potential, compatibility with technologies currently in use, system support after system installation and overall cost effectiveness for Valtim.
  • Ensuring web-based services, focusing on both customers and supply chain, are effective and efficient.
  • Maintain open lines of communication between employees, management and executives
  • Ensure all resources and assets are used efficiently and correctly
  • Duties as assigned, measured, and reviewed by VP of Operations

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Excellent communication skills including active listening
  • Should possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound judgement calls
  • Demonstrates a broad understanding of technical information technology issues and trends
  • Attention to detail and excellent organization/time managements skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Suite of products experience, especially Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server administration (2012 R2 and newer)
  • Solid understanding of Active Directory and Azure Active Directory (hybrid environments)
  • Experience with RMM platforms (NinjaOne or similar)
  • Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching)
  • Experience with endpoint security solutions (Bitdefender or similar)
  • Microsoft 365 administration experience
  • Understanding of backup and disaster recovery principles
  • Ability to adapt to frequent changes
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees within Valtim’s organization and with external suppliers and service providers

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to bend, lift, stoop, reach, twist, turn, and will occasionally be required to utilize the stairs.
  • During installations crawling and assisting from a lift may be necessary

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Office-based position
  • Occasional after-hours work for maintenance windows and system upgrades
  • On-call availability for critical infrastructure support


REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline; advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of management experience
  • Mail/Print industry knowledge (preferred)
  • Experience with GMC (preferred)
  • Experience with BCC (preferred)
