Our work spans the full project life cycle, from up-front evaluation and planning studies through design and into construction monitoring and operations. You can help clients push boundaries and meet evolving industrial demands while supporting resilient infrastructure and responsible growth. HDR is looking for an Industrial Project Manager with experience supporting Industrial sector clients and projects in the Southeast. This position will be located in HDR's North Charleston office, supporting a growing Industrial market sector in manufacturing. They may also support clients and projects in agribusiness, food and beverage, oil and gas, mining, and aggregates industries. Primary responsibilities for this position will include project leadership, management of multidisciplinary teams, as well as understanding of scope of work, schedule, and budget. This individual should be familiar with engineering disciplines involved on manufacturing and industrial projects, as well as implementation of QAQC procedures. This role also requires client interaction (from pre-positioning for the work, proposal development, through project completion) and strong verbal and written communication skills as needed for regular interaction with internal staff such as project team members, marketing staff, and operations leadership. They will also work closely with South Carolina leadership, as well as our Advanced Manufacturing Practice.

On a day-to-day basis, the Industrial Project Manager will also be expected to: 
 
  • Direct and coordinate work of single or multidiscipline teams throughout the project's lifecycle (from development and initiation to close-out)
  • Be responsible for all aspects of complex small to medium projects or routine large projects
  • Produce and coordinate several small to medium projects concurrently
  • Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings
  • Conduct work sessions for deliverable development in conjunction with other staff and stakeholders
  • Coordinate staffing and workload through entire project life cycle, and ensure completion of deliverables on schedule
  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure that work is completed within parameters of agreed-to budget and schedule
  • Work with the Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews
  • Implement QA/QC procedures
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications 
 
  • Master's degree
  • PMP certification
  • Experience managing engineering projects for Advanced Manufacturing industry
  • Local candidates are preferred
  • *LI-SM1
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 7 years related experience
  • A minimum 2 years project management experience
  • Requires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered. Example: Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
  • MS Office and MS Project experience is required (Access experience would be plus)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
