Can you be a freelance event planner?

Yes, an event planner can work as a freelance or independent contractor, offering services on a project basis without being employed by a specific company. Certification or experience in event planning can enhance credibility and attract clients.

Can event planning be a side hustle?

An independent contractor event planner can often work as a side hustle, as event planning typically offers flexible scheduling and project-based work. Success depends on time management, building a client base, and developing relevant skills such as organization and vendor coordination.

What type of event planners make the most money?

Experienced corporate event planners and high-end wedding planners tend to earn the most income, especially those working with luxury clients or large organizations. Success often depends on skills, reputation, and the ability to manage complex events efficiently, sometimes requiring certifications or specialized tools. These roles typically involve higher fees and larger budgets, leading to increased earnings.

How much do freelance event planners charge?

Freelance event planners typically charge between 10% and 20% of the total event budget or a flat fee ranging from $500 to $5,000, depending on the event size, complexity, and experience. Rates can also be hourly, often between $25 and $75 per hour, especially for smaller or less complex events. Experienced planners with specialized skills may charge higher fees.
