The Opportunity 

LeoLabs is building a network of skilled Manufacturing Technician Independent Contractors (ICs) to support current and future production initiatives. Opportunities may vary in scope and duration, ranging from short term project support to longer-term engagements based on business needs. 

As a Manufacturing Technician Contractor, you will support the assembly, integration, and production of complex electromechanical and RF systems. You will execute established manufacturing processes, contribute to production throughput, and help ensure hardware is built to quality and configuration requirements.  This is an on-site contractor opportunity based at our headquarters in Menlo Park, CA.

Responsibilities 

  • Assemble electromechanical sub-assemblies per work instructions, drawings, and BOMs  
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and basic production equipment safely  
  • Perform in-process and final visual inspections  
  • Identify defects, workmanship issues, or missing components and escalate appropriately  
  • Support production schedules by completing builds on time and communicating blockers  

Required Qualifications 

  • Must be eligible to access export-controlled information and technology subject to U.S. export control regulations, including ITAR and EAR 
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing or mechanical assembly  
  • Demonstrated experience supporting production of complex electromechanical systems  
  • Ability to work independently and meet production deadlines  

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with PLM systems such as Arena and ERP systems such as NetSuite  
  • Background in electronics manufacturing and mechanical assembly  
  • Hands-on experience supporting hardware bring-up  
  • Ability to thrive in a startup or rapidly evolving environment  
  • Soldering and PCB rework experience preferred, but not requiredÂ
