Job description

Events Manager – Groups, Conferences & WeddingsSandestin Golf & Beach Resort

If you love orchestrating unforgettable moments—from high-energy corporate conferences to beachfront weddings where the sunset does half the work—this is your stage.

At Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort, no two days look the same. One day you’re welcoming a 500-person conference across multiple ballrooms and breakout spaces. The next, you’re fine-tuning a Gulf-front wedding ceremony, making sure every detail lands perfectly as the waves roll in. You’re part logistics wizard, part relationship builder, part calm-in-the-storm leader—and 100% essential to the guest experience.

What You’ll Be Doing (and owning like a pro)

You’ll lead the end-to-end execution of meetings, conferences, weddings, and group events across our 2,400-acre resort—where bay views, golf courses, beach venues, and event spaces all come into play.

You’ll:

  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for group leaders, planners, and wedding clients from pre-arrival through departure
  • Translate vision into flawless execution—BEOs, timelines, floorplans, and all the moving pieces in between
  • Coordinate seamlessly with Catering, Banquets, Culinary, Sales, and Operations teams to bring events to life
  • Lead pre-conference meetings, site visits, tastings, and walkthroughs that set every detail up for success
  • Manage vendor relationships including décor, AV, entertainment, rentals, and transportation
  • Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown with a sharp eye on quality and timing
  • Troubleshoot in real time—because at events, things happen, and you make sure guests never notice
  • Monitor budgets, billing accuracy, and operational efficiency for each group or event
  • Ensure every event reflects the level of service, polish, and energy expected at a premier coastal resort
What Success Looks Like Here
  • Events run smoothly, on time, and on brand—even when they’re complex
  • Clients feel supported, heard, and genuinely excited to return
  • Internal teams are aligned, informed, and energized (not scrambling)
  • Weddings feel effortless, conferences feel elevated, and group leaders leave impressed
  • You become the trusted “go-to” person for anything happening on event day
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in event management, hospitality, conferences, or wedding coordination (resort or large venue experience is a plus)
  • Strong organizational skills—you can juggle timelines, people, and priorities without dropping details
  • Confidence in communication with high-touch clients, executives, and large groups
  • Calm problem-solving under pressure (you don’t panic—you pivot)
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event-driven schedules
  • A genuine love for hospitality, teamwork, and creating memorable experiences
Why This Role Hits Different

This isn’t a back-office planning job—you’re in the action. You’ll be running events across beaches, ballrooms, golf club venues, waterfront spaces, and everything in between. You’ll see the impact of your work in real time: standing ovations at conferences, perfect first dances on the sand, and groups that leave already planning their return.

If you’re the kind of person who thrives in organized chaos, loves people, and gets a rush from pulling off “impossible” events flawlessly—this is your place.
