Job description

The Senior Resource Association Foundation (SRAF) was established in July 2025 to support the long-term sustainability of Senior Resource Associationโ€™s essential programs and services. For more than 50 years, Senior Resource Association has served seniors and their families by providing nourishment, transportation, enrichment, and peace of mind throughout the community. Established as a separate 501(c)(3) organization, SRAF focuses on building lasting philanthropic partnerships, expanding legacy giving opportunities, and strengthening stewardship and transparency in fundraising efforts. The Foundationโ€™s mission is to help sustain and protect critical services, adapt to the evolving needs of the senior community, and ensure continued support for programs that promote independence, dignity, and quality of life for older adults.

Position Summary

The Events Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising and community engagement events that advance the organizationโ€™s mission and philanthropic goals. Reporting to the Marketing & Events Director, this position assists with all aspects of event management including logistics, sponsorship coordination, volunteer support, donor stewardship, and event execution.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Coordinate fundraising, community engagement, and organizational events that support the mission and visibility of the organization.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of key fundraising events including the Annual Pro-Am Golf Tournament, Living Joyfully Luncheon, Annual Bingo Luncheon, and future fundraising initiatives.
  • Coordinate event logistics including venues, vendors, catering, registration, guest lists, sponsorship fulfillment, volunteer coordination, and event timelines.
  • Support sponsor outreach, donor stewardship, sponsorship fulfillment, and in-kind donation coordination.
  • Assist with silent auctions, raffle items, sponsorship materials, signage, and other event-related components.
  • Maintain accurate event records including budgets, sponsorship tracking, RSVP lists, donor acknowledgments, and post-event reporting.
  • Collaborate with marketing staff on event promotion, printed materials, social media content, and event communications.
  • Maintain donor, sponsorship, and event-related records within Raiser's Edge or similar database systems.
  • Coordinate community outreach activities and events that strengthen community relationships and organizational visibility.
  • Assist with employee and volunteer appreciation events as needed.
  • Recruit, coordinate, and support volunteers participating in events and event committees.
  • Assist with post-event evaluations and recommendations for future event improvements.
  • Stay informed on nonprofit event planning and fundraising trends and best practices.
  • Maintain confidentiality of donor, sponsor, volunteer, and organizational information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact professionally with donors, sponsors, volunteers, vendors, community partners, and staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while exercising initiative and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills in fast-paced event environments.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion with sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with event or donor management software preferred.
  • Experience with Raiser's Edge preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events.
  • Ability to represent the organization professionally within the community.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Relations, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience coordinating events, fundraising activities, community engagement initiatives, hospitality events, or related work preferred.
  • Experience supporting fundraising events, sponsorship coordination, donor engagement, or volunteer coordination preferred.
  • Experience working in a nonprofit, hospitality, or event-driven environment preferred.
Additional Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Primarily weekday business hours in an in-office environment; evening and weekend hours may be required based on event schedules and organizational needs.
  • Work is performed in both office and event environments, including indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Ability to lift and transport event materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel locally as needed.
  • Valid Florida driverโ€™s license required.
  • Must successfully complete Level 2 background screening through Florida's Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse and maintain eligibility with the Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA): https://info.flclearinghouse.com
