Job description

Salary Range: $130,000 – $175,000 plus equity

About RWX

RWX is a venture capital backed startup based in Columbus, OH. Our product is a cloud computing platform that software engineers and their AI agents use to run automation based on code changes, such as automated tests and deployments.

We’re currently a 7-person team with a product that customers absolutely love. Our momentum is growing with the transition to AI-driven software engineering, and we’re hiring an additional 10 people during 2026.

About the role

We’re looking for a software engineer who enjoys being customer‑fronting. You'll work directly with customers to implement CI/CD workflows on RWX and to ensure every customer is receiving the best possible experience from our platform. You’ll use AI as well as traditional software engineering expertise to ensure customers are integrated successfully, and you’ll help build our internal tooling to make it easier to implement customer workflows.

This is a hands‑on software engineering role. You will be writing implementation code and internal tooling directly.

Our platform enables customers to run their workflows faster, more cost efficiently, and with a radically improved developer experience and agent‑native interface. Our customers love the platform and every one of our implementations results in highly rewarding moments of delight from the engineering teams we are empowering.

Your work will span the following areas:

Proof of Concept (POC) Implementation
  • You’ll lead the technical implementation of customer CI/CD workflows on RWX as part of our structured POC process.
  • You’ll rapidly onboard into unfamiliar customer codebases, understand how their existing CI/CD is structured, and translate it to RWX to take full advantage of our differentiated platform.
  • You’ll identify opportunities for simplification and general improvement to ensure customers leave the POC with a better and more maintainable workflow than they started with.
  • You’ll meet directly with the engineering teams we work with to hand off their RWX workflows and train them on using the platform.
Ongoing Customer Success
  • You’ll engage in customer Slack channels to provide responsive, high‑quality technical support.
  • You’ll conduct periodic reviews of customer workloads to proactively identify underutilized features or optimization opportunities.
  • You’ll serve as a trusted technical advisor across the entire customer lifecycle.
Tooling Development
  • You’ll proactively identify areas of improvement in our POC tooling to streamline your day‑to‑day work.
  • You’ll specifically focus on iterating on and improving our use of coding agents for assisting in POC migrations.
  • You’ll contribute improvements directly to the platform itself to solve customer pain points.

The ideal candidate for this role has the following qualifications:

  • Deep, hands‑on experience with CI/CD systems. You should be comfortable reading and reasoning about workflows built in GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, CircleCI, Buildkite, or similar.
  • Ability to quickly navigate and understand unfamiliar codebases and infrastructure configurations.
  • Strong communication skills. You can explain complex technical concepts clearly and simply to both engineers and engineering leaders.
  • Comfort managing multiple customer engagements simultaneously with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Genuine customer empathy and a drive to deliver an exceptional experience at every touchpoint.
  • 3+ years in a Software Engineering, DevOps, Solutions Engineering, or Sales Engineering role.

You’ll report to cofounder and CTO, Tommy Graves.

Location

This position is based in Columbus, OH. We’re about to lease office space at the Peninsula downtown and expect to work in the office most days, with some flexibility for convenience.
