Position Information
Seeking dedicated, student-centered individuals to join our team as Part-Time Title 1 Assistants. This hourly position offers a unique, student-friendly schedule that aligns perfectly with the school calendar, making it ideal for educators, aspiring teachers, or community members looking for a meaningful role. Assistants will work each school year from late August until late May, and reporting hours occur only on days when students are in session.
In this role, assistants will work directly with students to boost their foundational skills and academic confidence. You will provide targeted reading and math interventions to individual students or small groups while maintaining a positive, encouraging learning environment. A core component of this position involves tracking student growth; therefore, candidates must be willing to learn how to administer, score, and analyze various reading and math assessments. Throughout the year, you will collaborate closely with classroom teachers and Title 1 staff to ensure all student needs are met.
Candidates must hold a Pennsylvania teaching certification or a two-year associate degree (or higher), along with evidenced, documented experience working in a school or similar instructional setting. It is highly beneficial if candidates are already familiar with reading and math intervention programs and assessments. Ultimately, we are looking for individuals who have a strong desire to learn data-driven support strategies and a passion for helping children succeed.
Required Qualifications Upon Offer of Employment:
  1. Current PA Criminal History background check
  2. Current FBI Criminal background check
  3. Current Child Abuse background check
  4. Proof of TB test, results must be within the past year

Once all paperwork is submitted, it will be reviewed, and the applicant, if qualified and selected, will be contacted to schedule an interview and complete clearances and any additional paperwork.
Only complete and submitted applications will be reviewed. Previous applicants need not apply.
The Lampeter-Strasburg School District is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
