Human Resources Coordinator

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for executing and maintaining all core HR operations across APEC sites. This role ensures consistency, compliance, and a strong employee experience by supporting hiring, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and culture initiatives. This position serves as the central point of coordination for HR processes, working closely with Regional Directors and Site Leaders to ensure standards are upheld across all locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • HR Operations & Administration
    • Maintain and manage employee records, job descriptions, and personnel files
    • Coordinate and track:
      • Compensation rates and updates
      • Employee schedules
      • PTO requests and balances
      • Benefits enrollment and changes
    • Ensure adherence to APEC Employee Handbook and personnel policies
    • Support and administer the employee evaluation process
    • Maintain HR systems and ensure data accuracy
  • Employee Experience & Culture
    • Act as a point of contact for HR-related employee questions and concerns
    • Support and promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performing culture across sites
    • Lead and support initiatives that improve employee morale, engagement, and retention
    • Partner with leadership to identify and address culture gaps
    • Conduct HR phone calls as needed for support, follow-ups, and issue resolution
  • Recruitment & Hiring
    • Coordinate and execute end-to-end recruitment processes, including:
      • Job postings
      • Candidate screening
      • Interview coordination
    • Lead hiring events and recruitment drives
    • Ensure all hiring practices align with compliance requirements and APEC standards
    • Facilitate onboarding processes to ensure a smooth new hire experience
  • Training & Development
    • Coordinate employee training programs and onboarding sessions
    • Track completion of required trainings (including compliance-related)
    • Support development initiatives, including:
      • Mentor program coordination
      • Self-development planning
    • Partner with leadership to ensure employees have access to growth opportunities
  • Performance Management & Evaluations
    • Coordinate and track:
      • Site Manager evaluations
      • Leadership evaluations
      • Self-evaluations
    • Ensure evaluation processes are completed on time and consistently across all sites
    • Support leaders in delivering effective and compliant performance feedback
  • Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution
    • Support resolution of employee concerns and conflicts in a timely and professional manner
    • Escalate sensitive or high-risk issues to HR leadership as needed
    • Ensure all employee relations matters are handled with confidentiality and consistency
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance
    • Ensure compliance with:
      • APEC policies
      • State childcare licensing requirements (e.g., Georgia Bright from the Start)
      • Employment laws and regulations
    • Conduct regular audits of:
      • Employee files
      • Training completion
      • Site-level HR practices
    • Support quality assurance efforts across all sites
  • Site Support
    • Serve as an HR partner to Site Leaders and Regional Directors
    • Provide guidance on HR policies, processes, and best practices
    • Support staffing needs, including:
      • Coverage coordination (in partnership with leadership)
      • Workforce planning support
  • Retention & Workforce Health
    • Track and analyze employee retention trends
    • Support initiatives to improve retention and engagement
    • Identify risks and recommend solutions to leadership

    • Experience in childcare, education, or nonprofit environments is a plus
