Job description

HR Generalist II
Location: South Bay (On-site)
Schedule/Duration: Monday thru Friday
Pay Rate: $35.00 (DOE)

Job Summary
The HR Generalist II provides broad HR support across recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, employee relations, HR compliance, HR systems/HRIS support, training and development, and related HR operations within an office/light manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support employee relations through clear communication, coaching, and partnership with leaders
  • Interpret and help apply HR policies/procedures; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
  • Administer benefits processes (enrollment support, documentation, claims support, payroll deduction coordination, wellness participation)
  • Manage leave, unemployment, and offboarding (tracking, vendor coordination, exit processes, property collection)
  • Support HR systems/HRIS: maintain accurate employee data, run reports, and complete audits
  • Lead full-cycle recruiting and onboarding (orientation, paperwork, pre-employment screenings)
  • Support safety and workers’ compensation processes in partnership with EH&S and Operations
  • Assist employee engagement/recognition initiatives and performance management activities
  • Drive continuous improvement/standard work; participate in HR professional development (e.g., SHRM)

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field (or equivalent relevant experience)
  • 3–5 years professional HR experience; manufacturing environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR practices (recruiting, benefits, FMLA, ADA, EEO)
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills; able to handle sensitive/confidential matters
  • Strong problem-solving/critical thinking and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Outlook; HRIS experience preferred (ADP preferred)
  • Experience delivering training and supporting employee development initiatives

Work Environment / Other Requirements
  • On-site work required (office + light manufacturing); must be able to wear PPE as needed
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Regular, reliable attendance is essential
  • Must follow site security and controlled information requirements (e.g., ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI) and safety/handling procedures
