HRIS Assistants are administrative professionals who help manage and maintain Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) within an organization. They are responsible for entering, updating, and verifying employee data, generating reports, and supporting HR staff with system-related issues. What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an HRIS assistant?

To thrive as an HRIS Assistant, you need a solid understanding of human resources processes, data entry, and basic HR principles, often supported by a degree in HR or a related field. Familiarity with HRIS platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or ADP, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Excel, is typically required. Job description

Diamond Foundry Inc. is solving the thermal limitation at the foundation of today's most exciting tech industries -- AI & cloud compute, electric-car power electronics, and 5G/6G wireless. We have managed to produce the world's first single-crystal diamond wafers and are now on a mission to put a diamond behind every chip. We are the rare unicorn that has grown fast and profitably. We received $515m in funding and are executing a multi-$B expansion plan for one of the greenest forms of tech manufacturing: converting greenhouse gas into diamond wafers using zero-emission energy.

We're looking for a People & Culture Generalist to support a fast-paced, high-trust startup environment in a highly technical manufacturing company.

This role spans HR operations, employee relations (ER), HR compliance, HRIS management, and employee lifecycle support across both hourly manufacturing/technician teams and salaried engineering and corporate staff.

This is an opportunity to help build and scale People Operations infrastructure at a fast-growing organization where your ideas, judgment, and execution will directly influence employee experience and company culture.

You'll need strong judgment, discretion, and the ability to connect day-to-day HR work to broader business needs.

Responsibilities
  • Partner with managers and leadership to support employee experience, team effectiveness, and organizational growth
  • Own and improve core People Operations processes across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and HR systems administration
  • Build and scale HR policies, workflows, and infrastructure with an ownership mindset and focus on continuous improvement
  • Manage employee relations matters with professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and HR best practices
Requirements
  • 3-6 years of experience in HR Generalist, People Operations, or HRBP-adjacent roles
  • Strong knowledge of HR compliance, California labor law, and FLSA classification (hourly vs. salaried)
  • Experience handling employee relations (ER), investigations, and confidential matters
  • Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations, ideally in manufacturing, engineering, or technical environments
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., Rippling, BambooHR, Workday, Gusto, or similar) and comfort working in fast-paced, high-growth environments
$105,000 - $120,000 a year
Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, expertise, and scope of responsibilities. Higher-level candidates will be considered, with adjusted salary as appropriate.
Diamond Foundry believes in supporting our employees from the workplace to their personal and home life. We provide eligible employees with an opportunity to enroll in a variety of benefit programs, generally including health insurance, flexible spending accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and a number of programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work. Perks include employee discounts to VRAI. Our benefits begin as early as your first day of employment. Medical and vision coverage are retroactive to your start date, while dental and voluntary benefits take effect once you've completed your enrollment.

Diamond Foundry is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected factor under federal, state or local law.

Our commitment extends to ensuring that our manufacturing and engineering departments adhere to the highest standards of legal and regulatory compliance. Additionally, these departments may have specific physical requirements to ensure the safety and efficiency of our operations. We prioritize the well-being of our employees and strive to create a work environment that promotes both legal compliance and the optimal functioning of our manufacturing and engineering processes.
