Job description

Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

Houston, TX | Full-Time | Salary Range: $40/hr – $50/hr ($83,200k-$104,000k) DOE
 
Summary: Client is seeking an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer who is responsible for supporting and actively participating in detailed I&C design activities in a variety of off-shore and on-shore projects.
As a successful candidate, you will support senior and mid-level engineers in the preparation of engineering deliverables such as Instrument Datasheets, Cable Schedules, Instrument Indexes, and I/O Lists. You will assist in the development of design drawings such as PLC Panel Layout Drawings, Junction Box Layout Drawings, Wiring Diagrams, and Instrument Installation Details, under guidance and supervision.
In this position, you will interface with project managers and other disciplines that ensure accuracy and consistency across engineering packages, from the design to the construction phase.
 
Required Skills/Qualifications:
·     Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited program.
·     0–5 years of related experience in Instrumentation and Controls (internship or co-op experience acceptable).
·     Basic familiarity with control valve and relief valve sizing concepts; experience with vendor software is a plus.
·     Exposure to tools such as Fisher Valve Specification Manager, Emerson PRV2Size, or FE-Sizer is preferred but not required.
·     Ability and willingness to complete Tropical Helicopter Underwater Escape Training as required by project or client needs.
·     Familiarity with common instrumentation vendors such as Rosemount, Fisher, Kimray, Norriseal, Anderson Greenwood, Wika, Ashcroft, and Enardo is a plus.
·     Basic awareness of industry standards such as API 520, API 521, API 12F, API 2000, and AGA No. 3.
