Job description

Human Resources Administrative Assistant

We are a leading home services provider looking for an organized, motivated person to join our corporate HR team. This is a hands-on role supporting recruiting, onboarding, and day-to-day HR operations, a strong step for someone who wants to further build a career in HR.

You'll work closely with the HR including the recruiting team, learn how a busy department runs, and take real ownership of the work that keeps hiring, onboarding and the overall department moving.

This is a full time onsite position at our Nassau County, NY office, Monday–Friday.

What you will do:

  • Perform general HR administrative duties including, but not limited to, data entry, recordkeeping and auditing
  • Support recruiting by sourcing candidates through job boards, social media, employee referrals, and our internal database
  • Review resumes against role requirements and help the recruiting team identify strong fits
  • Coordinate onboarding: gather new-hire documentation, run reference checks, and set up pre-employment screenings
  • Help organize and staff open houses and job fairs
  • Assist with HRIS tasks and ongoing HR projects
  • Provide other general administrative support for the department, including reception/front door coverage as needed and supply ordering & stocking

What we're looking for:

  • 1–2 years of HR or administrative experience (a bachelor's in HR, Business, or a related field is a plus)
  • Exposure to an Applicant Tracking System; ADP Recruiting Management a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable juggling priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills
  • Sound judgment and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Solid Word and Excel skills
