Human Resources Assistant

Albuquerque Publishing Company and the Albuquerque Journal are seeking a highly organized, service-oriented part-time Human Resources Assistant to help create an outstanding employee experience from day one. If you enjoy keeping things organized, supporting others, solving problems, and being part of a collaborative team, we'd love to meet you.

Responsibilities

  • Welcoming new employees through the hiring and onboarding process
  • Maintaining employee records and HR systems with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Assisting with benefits administration and annual Open Enrollment
  • Supporting employee relations, leave administration, and HR compliance
  • Responding to employee questions and providing exceptional customer service
  • Assisting in the coordination of employee recognition, celebrations, and engagement activities
  • Assisting with special projects that improve the employee experience across the organization

You'll be a trusted resource for employees while helping ensure our HR operations run smoothly behind the scenes.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • One to three years of administrative or human resources experience preferred
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to juggle multiple priorities
  • Friendly, approachable, and committed to excellent customer service
  • A strong communicator who enjoys working with people
  • Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion
  • Knowledge of HR practices and compliance
  • Experienced with G Suite and comfortable learning new technology (Paylocity or other HRIS experience is a plus)
