Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and service-oriented House Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of two private residences in Evanston, IL and Sarasota, FL. This role requires travel between both residences, with accommodations provided while traveling. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring every aspect of the household operates seamlessly. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, highly resourceful, and takes full ownership of household operations. They will anticipate needs, solve problems independently, create systems and efficiencies, and provide exceptional service while maintaining the highest level of discretion and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the daily operations, maintenance, and presentation of both residences
  • Maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and household readiness
  • Manage laundry, wardrobe care, pantry inventory, and household supplies
  • Oversee vehicle maintenance, registrations, and service appointments
  • Manage mail, packages, deliveries, and household logistics
  • Coordinate and oversee all household vendors and service providers, serving as the primary point of contact
  • Arrange travel logistics, including flights, accommodations, transportation, reservations, and itinerary coordination
  • Ensure each residence is fully operational, stocked, and prepared prior to principal arrivals
  • Manage household calendars, appointments, and scheduling
  • Coordinate guest visits, family gatherings, and special events
  • Handle gift purchasing, holiday planning, personal errands, and special projects
  • Assist with expense tracking, household budgeting, and light bookkeeping
  • Plan and coordinate household entertaining and events
  • Develop and maintain household manuals, inventories, checklists, and standard operating procedures
  • Implement technology and organizational tools to improve efficiency and communication

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience as a House Manager, Estate Manager, Personal Assistant, Butler, Lifestyle Manager, or in a similar role within a private household
  • Excellent organizational, administrative, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities across multiple residences
  • Strong technology skills and experience creating organizational systems
  • Exceptional discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel between residences

Schedule: Full-Time, approximately 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, with flexibility as needed
Compensation: $100,000-$120,000 DOE
