Private Household Managers are professionals responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a private residence or multiple properties. Their duties typically include supervising household staff, managing schedules, coordinating maintenance and repairs, handling budgets, and ensuring the home runs smoothly. They often act as the main point of contact between the household and outside vendors, and may also be responsible for event planning, travel arrangements, and personal shopping for the household members. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

What are some common challenges faced by Private Household Managers, and how can they be addressed?

Private Household Managers often juggle multiple responsibilities, such as supervising staff, coordinating vendors, and managing household budgets. One common challenge is balancing the diverse needs and preferences of household members while ensuring smooth daily operations. Effective communication, strong organizational skills, and adaptability are essential for addressing unexpected issues like last-minute schedule changes or staffing shortages. Building a proactive relationship with the household and maintaining detailed records can help managers anticipate needs and resolve problems efficiently.

Do you enjoy creating order, anticipating needs and helping busy people stay organized?

We're seeking an experienced Private Household Manager to become a trusted partner to a wonderful family. This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes initiative and finds genuine satisfaction in helping a busy household run smoothly.

The children are school-aged, so while childcare remains an important part of the role, the primary focus is managing the day-to-day operations of the household and keeping everything running seamlessly.

What You'll Do

Every day is a little different, but responsibilities typically include:

  • Managing the day-to-day operations of the household.
  • Coordinating schedules, appointments, vendors and household projects.
  • Supporting the children before and after school, including transportation and activities as needed.
  • Coordinating a household helper and helping prioritize daily responsibilities.
  • Assisting with meal planning, grocery shopping and household organization.
  • Running occasional errands and handling a variety of household and personal projects.
  • Communicating proactively with the family throughout the day.

What We're Looking For

The strongest candidates will have experience in roles such as:

  • Private Household Manager
  • Family Assistant
  • Executive Assistant
  • Personal Assistant
  • Estate Assistant
  • Office Manager
  • Concierge or luxury hospitality
  • Another highly organized support role

We're looking for someone who is dependable, proactive and naturally organized. You enjoy solving problems, communicate well, exercise good judgment and genuinely like helping others. You're looking for more than your next job—you'd like to become a trusted part of a family's life for years to come.

Experience managing your own household, supporting another family or coordinating the many moving pieces of a busy home or office will all be viewed as valuable experience.

Schedule

  • Full-time
  • Monday-Friday
  • Generally 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Compensation

  • $65,000-$75,000, depending on experience
  • Paid Time Off
  • Additional benefits

Why You'll Love This Role

This isn't simply a household management position. It's an opportunity to become a trusted partner to a warm, appreciative family who values open communication, mutual respect and long-term relationships.

If you take pride in making life easier for others and are looking for meaningful work where your organization, initiative and good judgment will truly be appreciated, we'd love to hear from you.
