What are hourly contracts?

Hourly contracts are work agreements where an employee or contractor is paid a specific rate for each hour worked, rather than a fixed salary or per-project fee. These contracts are commonly used for temporary, freelance, or part-time work where the hours may vary from week to week. Hourly contracts typically track time worked through timesheets or digital tools, and payment is calculated based on the approved hours. This arrangement provides flexibility for both the worker and the employer, but may not include benefits like health insurance or paid time off.
