Part-Time Hockey Manager
Location: Blackhawks Ice Center - Chicago, Il
Position Type: Part-Time, Hourly
Report To: Hockey Director
Position Summary
The Blackhawks Ice Center is seeking a Part-Time Hockey Manager to assist with the administration and operation of our hockey programs. This role is responsible for supporting league operations, customer relations, game-day management, camps, clinics, and hockey development initiatives while ensuring a positive experience for all participants. The ideal candidate is organized, customer-focused, and passionate about growing the game of hockey.
Responsibilities:
  • Promote and assist with the day-to-day operations of adult and youth hockey programs, leagues, clinics, and special events.
  • Coordinate league communication, rosters, schedules, and parents.
  • Schedule and supervise scorekeepers, coaches, and other game-day personnel.
  • Maintain accurate league standings, statistics, and scoresheets.
  • Assist with the planning and execution of in-house leagues, holiday clinics, camps, and special events.
  • Work closely with facility management to coordinate ice schedules and programming needs.
  • Monitor league operations and enforce facility and league policies to ensure a safe and fair environment.
  • Help recruit, train, and evaluate part-time hockey staff.
  • Maintain a visible presence during hockey programming hours to support operations and engage with participants.
Qualifications:
  • Demonstrated experience in hockey operations, sports management, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of ice hockey rules, programs and leagues
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive approach to learning, problem-solving, and adapting to new situations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays, as dictated by program schedules.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
  • Work will be performed within the Blackhawks Ice Center.
  • Ability to maintain a visible presence during programming hours, which may involve standing or moving around the facility for extended periods.
Compensation & Schedule:
  • This is a Part-Time, Hourly position.
  • Schedule is flexible and based on league and program needs.
  • Evening and weekend availability is required.
