Schedule* (10 hours per week): 
 
Mondays  4:15 to 8:15pm
Tuesdays  5:15 to 8:15pm
Wednesdays  5:15 to 8:15pm   *subject to change depending on branch needs

Job Summary: Performs a variety of duties relative to the organization and retrieval of library materials.
 

 
Essential Functions:
Functions listed are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed. The omission of specific duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment to the position.
  1. Provides a consistently high level of service to others by assisting with requests, or locating appropriate resources for the request.

  2. Shelves books and other materials.

  3. Pulls books to edge of shelf.

  4. Straightens shelves.

  5. Shelves magazines and newspapers.

  6. Reads shelves.

  7. Shifts books as necessary.

  8. Straightens library furniture and material.

  9. May work at different locations throughout the CCPL system, as needed.

  10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical and Environmental Conditions:

Work requires routine physical effort in the handling of moderately heavy materials of up to 40 pounds. Work requires standing for long periods of time and some stooping and bending. Work requires the ability to perform effectively in a busy public service environment with frequent public interaction and varying noise levels.

Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, libraries, classrooms or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment and observance of fire and building safety regulations.
