Job Overview:

The Ohio Department of Medicaid (ODM) is seeking a healthcare professional to be part of our Behavioral Health Policy Team. As a Community Behavioral Health Policy Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • leading the development of behavioral healthcare systems that address the needs of individuals receiving mental and substance use disorder services within the community behavioral healthcare setting (e.g. service delivery, crisis services, value-based care and outcome-based reimbursement methodologies individuals with SPMI, individuals with multiple social drivers of health needs).
  • assisting with developing program goals, policies, objectives, funding models, and policy implementation plans for new federal/state policy, and initiatives.
  • assisting in policy and program development for new behavioral health services and enhancements to existing services.
  • assisting in strategic, cross system initiatives, and innovation projects that involve multiple state and local departments and external system partners.ย 
  • building policy that impacts the BH service continuum, department and BH initiative goals, rate models, and implementation plans to operationalize system changes.
  • collaborating with other ODM program areas including Managed Care and OhioRISE for policy coordination and development.
  • directing responses to stakeholder inquiries related to Medicaid behavioral health policy.

Completion of graduate core program in business, management or public administration, public health, health administration, social or behavioral science or public finance; 12 mos. exp. in the delivery of a health services program or health services project management (e.g., health care data analysis, health services contract management, health care market & financial expertise; health services program communication; health services budget development, HMO & hospital rate development, health services eligibility, health services data base analysis).

-Or 12 months experience has Medicaid Health Systems Specialist, 65293. Note: education & experience is to be commensurate with approved position description on file.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment.ย
