BerryDunn is seeking a Senior Manager, Health Policy to lead complex client engagements and contribute to the continued growth of our Health Analytics Practice Area. This role serves as a trusted advisor to healthcare leaders, translating policy and regulatory complexity into actionable insights that inform financial, operational, and strategic decisions. The Senior Manager will work closely with client executives, BerryDunn actuaries, economists, data professionals, and firm leadership. This position also plays an important role in mentoring staff, shaping policy-related service offerings, and supporting business development efforts.

The healthcare system is undergoing significant change, driven by evolving payment models, consolidation, regulatory complexity, and increasing financial pressure on providers and payers. BerryDunn is well positioned to help organizations respond to these challenges, and we are seeking an experienced professional to join our team in a Senior Manager role.
You Will
  • Lead health policy engagements for state agencies, health systems, payers, and other mission-driven healthcare organizations
  • Partner with client leadership to frame complex policy questions and design analytical strategies that support executive decision-making
  • Research, interpret, and apply federal, state, and private healthcare policies, including statutes, regulations, and sub-regulatory guidance
  • Analyze healthcare payment models, delivery system changes, and emerging policy issues, including selected clinical subject areas
  • Direct and coordinate work with actuaries, economists, analysts, and technical programming staff to ensure high-quality analytical outputs
  • Translate policy analysis into cost, utilization, and risk implications in collaboration with actuarial and economic teams
  • Communicate findings clearly to executive-level audiences and public forums through written reports and presentations
  • Lead or support market oversight work, especially policy and regulatory analysis related to healthcare mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, and other material change transactions.
  • Provide quality oversight and mentorship to staff, supporting professional development and technical growth
  • Contribute to thought leadership, proposal development, and the strategic growth of BerryDunn's health policy services

You Have
  • Deep health policy expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to deliver high-impact work.
  • Master's degree or PhD in health policy, health management, public health, law, or a related field
  • JD a plus, or substantial experience applying legal and regulatory analysis in healthcare settings
  • Ten or more years of experience in health policy, healthcare consulting, or related fields
  • Experience supporting or analyzing healthcare mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, or system integration, including regulatory or policy considerations
  • Strong understanding of Medicare and Medicaid programs
  • Experience with commercial health insurance and multi-payer environments
  • Knowledge of healthcare payment methodologies, financing, and health data
  • Ability to translate complex legal, regulatory, and policy concepts into clear guidance for non-legal and executive audiences
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and coordinating work across disciplines
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Training or coursework in economics and statistics

Compensation Details
The base salary range targeted for this role is $178,000-$205,000. This salary range represents BerryDunn's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final salary range may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
