Iovance Biotherapeutics aims to be the global leader in innovating, developing and delivering tumor infiltrating lymphocyte (TIL) therapy for people with cancer. We are pioneering a transformational approach to treating cancer by harnessing the ability of the human immune system to recognize and attack diverse cancer cells in each patient. The Iovance TIL platform has demonstrated promising clinical data across multiple solid tumors. Overview
The Business Analytics & Insights (BAI) Summer Intern will gain hands-on experience supporting real-world Sales Operations analytics within a commercial stage, oncology-focused biotechnology organization. This internship offers a unique opportunity to work on meaningful commercial analytics projects while learning how data informs strategy, field execution, and leadership decision-making.
Reporting structurally to the Vice President of Business Analytics & Insights and working day-to-day with the Associate Director of Sales Operations, the intern will collaborate closely with experienced professionals and gain exposure to senior leadership and cross-functional partners across the commercial organization.
The internship is designed for a motivated, analytically curious student who is eager to apply data-driven thinking to complex business questions. Over the course of the summer, the intern will contribute to two core projects (HCP Targeting Optimization and Incentive Compensation Plan Effectiveness) focused on improving how the sales organization prioritizes healthcare providers, deploys resources, and aligns incentives to drive desired field behaviors.
By the end of the internship, the intern will have delivered tangible analytical outputs, strengthened technical and communication skills, and gained practical experience in commercial analytics and pharmaceutical sales operations.
Key Projects and Learning Outcomes
During the internship, you will:
  • Contribute to an HCP Targeting Optimization initiative by analyzing multiple data sources, evaluating targeting strategies, and developing insights that inform how sales teams prioritize healthcare providers.
  • Support an Incentive Compensation Effectiveness & Alignment assessment by examining how incentive plan metrics, performance outcomes, and payouts align with desired sales behaviors and business objectives.
  • Develop executive-ready analyses, presentations, and dashboards that help inform Sales Operations and leadership decisions.
  • Gain exposure to how analytics supports sales strategy, resource deployment, and commercial execution in the biotechnology space.

Responsibilities
Analytics & Insight Development
  • Perform quantitative analyses using Excel and analytics or visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL).
  • Analyze historical performance, attainment, and payout data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities.
  • Document analytical assumptions, methodologies, and outputs to ensure work is repeatable and scalable.

Business Partnership
  • Work closely with the Associate Director of Sales Operations to understand sales strategy, operational priorities, and analytical context.
  • Participate in cross-functional discussions to learn how analytics supports commercial decision-making.

Communication & Delivery
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable insights for business and leadership audiences.
  • Communicate findings through presentations, dashboards, and written summaries.
  • Manage assigned workstreams with increasing independence while actively incorporating feedback and guidance.

Education & Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited university pursuing a bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Business Administration, Health Informatics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related STEM field.
  • Must remain enrolled in university for at least one semester following completion of the internship.
  • Expected graduation date between December 2026 and June 2027.

Preferred Qualifications
  • A curious, analytical mindset and interest in using data to solve real-world business problems.
  • Comfort working with data in Microsoft Excel and an interest in learning tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly present findings.
  • A collaborative attitude and eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, professional environment.
  • Interest in the biotechnology and oncology landscape; prior exposure to healthcare systems, data storytelling, or commercial operations is a plus.
