Director, Sourcing Excellence & Transformation Description

Director, Sourcing Excellence & Transformation at Boehringer Ingelheim USA Corporation in Ridgefield, CT. Telecommuting permitted: work may be performed within normal commuting distance from this office 20% of the time.

Job Duties: Serves as a key leader within Global Business Services (GBS) Sourcing, focused on the U.S. market. Drives the sourcing vision, mission, and strategy while ensuring operational efficiency in a highly regulated environment. Aligns U.S. priorities with global Sourcing Excellence & Transformation (SE&T) initiatives and reports directly to the Vice President, Head of Purchasing in the U.S. Enhances Boehringer Ingelheim’s sourcing capabilities through excellence, transformation, and innovation. Translates global strategies into U.S.-specific actions and manages the sourcing business portfolio. Oversees performance management, data analytics, governance, compliance, and project portfolio management. Promotes digitalization and sustainable sourcing while ensuring adherence to U.S. laws and global standards. Collaborates with cross-functional teams and the global Head of SE&T to ensure harmonized solutions. Ensures sourcing strategies deliver value, mitigate risk, and foster continuous improvement across local and global operations.

Work Schedule: 40 hours per week (8:00am to 5:00pm)

Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Business, Engineering or related field and ten (10) years of experience in a purchasing or sourcing role OR Master’s degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in Business, Engineering or related field and eight (8) years of experience in a purchasing or sourcing role. Must have seven (7) years of experience with: Negotiation preparation and execution; and, Contract management. Must have five (5) years of experience with: Governance and compliance enablement; Strategic project leadership; Risk and value management; Project portfolio management; SAP systems, including Ariba, WeBuy Sourcing, WeBuy Procurement, and S/4HANA ERP; Working across different business functions and with global partners; and, Working in different roles within procurement, including sourcing, purchasing, and compliance. Must have three (3) years of experience with Dashboard performance indicator tool, including Power BI or Tableau. Up to 30% domestic and international travel required.
