This leader will architect a resilient, cost-competitive, and high-quality supply base; drive operational excellence using lean practices; and lead a global team to deliver year-over-year productivity, improved OTD/quality, risk reduction, and working capital performance. The role partners closely with Product Line, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Programs, and Finance to enable growth, NPI, and on-time customer delivery.Job Description

The Executive Sourcing Leader for Unison owns the global sourcing strategy and execution across 8 sites, directly shaping Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost outcomes for a full P&L. This leader will architect a resilient, cost-competitive, and high-quality supply base; drive operational excellence using lean practices; and lead a global team to deliver year-over-year productivity, improved OTD/quality, risk reduction, and working capital performance. The role partners closely with Product Line, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Programs, and Finance to enable growth, NPI, and on-time customer delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and execute a multi-year global sourcing strategy aligned to business growth, SQDC outcomes, and cash targets across 8 sites
  • Develop category/commodity strategies, supplier segmentation, and multi-source/dual-source plans to reduce risk and improve resilience
  • Establish performance targets and operating rhythms for productivity, DPPM/PPM, OTD, lead time, inventory, and payment terms; ensure contract coverage and compliance
  • Deliver annual cost productivity while protecting/improving quality and delivery; apply should-cost/clean-sheet analyses and negotiations to achieve total cost of ownership outcomes
  • Lead complex negotiations for LTAs, pricing agreements, and capacity reservations; drive strategic make/buy and footprint decisions
  • Execute Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) with top suppliers, including QBRs, balanced scorecards, corrective actions, and executive engagement
  • Partner with Engineering and Programs to align sourcing to NPI/NPD schedules, qualification plans, and rate readiness; accelerate PPAP/FAI and APQP where applicable
  • Reduce supply risk through capacity/cycle-time improvement, dual-sourcing, inventory strategies, and early-warning/monitoring of supplier health
  • Apply lean principles to internal and external value streams; lead Kaizen with suppliers to improve yield, OEE, and flow while reducing defects and lead time
  • Standardize buying, contracting, and risk management processes; deploy digital dashboards for visibility to critical metrics and supplier performance
  • Lead, develop, and coach a global sourcing team; set clear priorities, roles, standard work, and talent development plans
  • Build a culture of accountability, transparency, collaboration, and continuous improvement across sites and with suppliers
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and applicable export control and regulatory requirements
  • Drive supplier compliance for quality systems, EHS, and responsible sourcing

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field; or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years in strategic sourcing/procurement/supply chain in complex manufacturing; 5+ years leading teams across multiple sites or regions
  • Demonstrated success delivering cost productivity with improved quality and OTD in a regulated, high-reliability environment
  • Expertise in negotiating complex LTAs and strategic supplier agreements; strong TCO and should-cost capability
  • Experience implementing supplier development, SRM, and risk mitigation (e.g., dual-sourcing, capacity, geopolitical risk)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree (MBA, Engineering, or related)
  • Familiarity with FLIGHT DECK and problem solving tools
  • Aerospace/defense experience with precision machining, castings/forgings, electrical/electronics, or specialized materials and special processes
  • Familiarity with APQP/PPAP, qualification, and rate readiness in NPI/NPD
  • Proficiency with lean/Kaizen, Hoshin/strategy deployment, and standard work; experience driving Kaizen at suppliers
  • Strong financial acumen (price/cost breakdowns, working capital, cash, PPV, inflation/deflation management)
  • Digital fluency with analytics/BI tools, contract lifecycle management, and supplier risk platforms
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills
  • Global role with ~30-50% travel to suppliers and Unison sites
