Your Role:

The Bellefonte, Pennsylvania site is within the Chemistry division of MilliporeSigma Life Science. Our products are consumables used in hospitals, food testing, academia and other research laboratories. As a member of this team, you will support the site by overseeing day-to-day maintenance and engineering program implementations, reporting directly to the Site Director.

As the Head of Maintenance and Engineering, you will play a vital role in the site leadership team, managing the maintenance and engineering functions at the Bellefonte site. You will be responsible for delivering capital projects on time and within budget, with a strong emphasis on mechanical integrity and process safety programs. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in maintenance planning and reliability within a manufacturing environment. You will serve as the primary technical support for facilities maintenance, process engineering, building and grounds upkeep and the calibration of non-laboratory equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day site utilities operations (Electrical, HVAC, Pneumatics, Bulk Process Gases, Fire Suppression, Domestic Water, Wastewater, Refrigerant Management)
  • Participating in Process Hazard Analyses
  • Lead, develop and mentor the Maintenance and Engineering department staff
  • Establish and monitor department KPI's and promote a positive safety culture
  • Lead and support LSPS activities and daily DMS meetings for maintenance and engineering
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality standards across all departmental functions and participate in internal audits
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards for all departmental functions.
  • Assist with regulatory audits and inspections.
  • Lead, develop and mentor the Maintenance and Engineering department staff

Who You Are

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience managing a maintenance and engineering department.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience in CapEx project management.
  • Experience with eMaint or similar ERP maintenance systems.
  • Familiarity with chemical processes including:
    • Compressed gases
    • Graphitization
    • Solvents
  • Experience with Process Safety Management processes
  • Experience with Risk Management Plan processes.

Pay Range for this position: $137,100 - $205,700

The offer range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base pay compensation for this position. The actual compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level of experience, education, skills, and other job-related factors.
